Positive Impact Initiatives

GC Aqua Park is built around more than a day out on the water. We are here to create connection, support local families, back our community and protect the place we are lucky enough to call home.

From accessibility and inclusion through to sustainability, local partnerships and water safety, our goal is to make a positive impact on every guest, team member and community group we work with.

Sustainability in Action

We are working to reduce waste, protect the Broadwater environment and make smarter operational choices across the park.

Current initiatives include:

  • water-conscious operating procedures
  • recycling and Containers for Change collection
  • paperless ticketing and digital waivers
  • biodegradable packaging options
  • wristband collection and recycling
  • daily foreshore and marine-area clean-ups
  • eco-friendly antifouling paint
  • ongoing review of lower-impact materials and equipment

Accessibility and Inclusion

We want more people to feel welcome and supported at GC Aqua Park.

Our accessibility and inclusion work includes:

  • Accessible Play ticket options
  • Hidden Disability Sunflower support
  • water wheelies chair availability
  • companion and carer support
  • accessible viewing areas
  • sensory-aware support and a first aid/chill-out space
  • ongoing staff training and accessibility improvements

Proud to support the Hidden Disability SUNFLOWER program.

Community Sponsorships and Fundraising

GC Aqua Park supports local schools, sports clubs, charities and community groups through sponsorship and fundraising partnerships.

Our support may include donated passes, raffle prizes, fundraising support, community event partnerships or tailored support based on the group’s needs.

We are proud to back local legends who support kids, families, wellbeing and community connection.

Safety and Water Confidence

Safety is part of the GC Aqua Park experience. Our trained lifeguards, operational procedures, life jacket requirements, aqua sock policy and ongoing Royal Life Saving Queensland partnership help create a safer environment for guests.

We continue to invest in safety training, guest education and practical improvements that help families enjoy the water with more confidence.

Training and Local Opportunities

We support local training pathways and team development through partnerships, staff training and practical employment opportunities for young people entering tourism, hospitality and recreation.

Local Culture and Place

GC Aqua Park operates on the land and waters of the Gold Coast, and we recognise the Yugambeh people as Traditional Custodians.

We continue to build respectful cultural awareness into our park story and guest experience, while celebrating the Broadwater as one of the Gold Coast’s most loved public spaces.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Positive impact is not a one-off campaign. It is how we want to keep operating: more inclusive, more sustainable, safer, more connected and more useful to the local community every year.
